Members of the Central Visayas Regional Project Monitoring Team (RPMT) visited Camotes island last 28 April 2022 to conduct on-site inspection of Yolanda Permanent Housing Program (YPHP) projects in the municipalities of Poro, Tudela, and San Francisco.
The team visited the Poro Permanent Housing Project, Tudela Permanent Housing Project, Esperanza People’s Village, and Monte Alegre People’s Village. These housing projects, implemented by the National Housing Authority (NHA) through the local government units, are intended for families affected by Typhoon Yolanda who are living within the no-build or unsafe zones.
The monitoring team consisted of representatives of the Department of Budget and Management 7 (DBM 7), the Department of the Interior and Local Government 7 (DILG 7), and the National Economic and Development Authority 7 (NEDA 7). They were joined by representatives of NHA 7 and the concerned local government units during the activity. The findings of the team will be presented to the Central Visayas Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) during its meeting sometime in June 2022. It will also form part of the report to be submitted to the National Project Monitoring Committee (NPMC).
The four housing projects in Camotes are not covered by the President’s directive to complete the YPHP projects by 30 June 2022. The Esperanza People’s Village is targeted for completion by May 2023. The projects in Poro and Tudela would be completed within 2022. The Monte Alegre People’s Village is still subject for transfer to a more suitable location.
